HOW WAS WARLORDS OF TERRA BORN?
As almost every Project, it became started “in the garage”, invented by two very good friends. The main reasons we had to do it were the passion we had (and have) for games and the support of several important people for us.
In my case, I always had interest on games, and I had creativity and will to develop them. So, inspired by other great titles with a strong influence in my life, I took the plunge and created something new, fresh. Even when it’s inspired on great classics.
That was the way it became real. Mixing building system to produce resources and card games we got one part. When we combined this with the battlefield and real dimensión strategy, we gave birth to Warlords of Terra. But it wasn’t easy at all, and then comes the importance of Rafa Navarro, co-developer and hard-working tester. Together, we found misfunctions and corrected dime along months to get a successful game system. That cost so many hours…
FROM GREAT IDEA TO FACTS
The most important thing to achieve something is pushing hard to get it and not surrender. Being constant is (and was) the key. I myself thought “how could any illustrator work in this Project without earning money at the momento?” And the same could be applied to programmers, designers or whoever. Well…just becaused I tried, we became a party of almost 30 people of 6 countries working to make WoT a successful and really cool game.
But this didn’t came by itself. After a “morale injection” from my beloved Sara, I decided to take it seriously and start working to make it bigger. Messages in fórums, many e-mails, phonecalls, travelling around the country to meet possible partners… All that, and more, was necessary to bring WoT to reality. Think it’s possible and working for make it real was (is) the path. Always. And that’s the way we finally made it!
WoT is now a reality, the the Project is running well. Our prediction is we’ll release it officially (after beta phases) on 2017. First, we’ll start with four kingdoms and a basic card set, but our minds already have prepared more contents for expansión sets and even two more kingdoms!
About the physical card game, we’re studying it’s possible release. In a few months we’ll have our decisión taken, and it’s a personal dream that WoT could be played on many tables of many countries around the world. Even in great tournaments. Why not? As I said, it’s a matter of faith and pushing…and pushing more.
